CANADA 2001

January 17th, 2001

After driving 7 hours through wintery conditions and getting very little sleep last nite, Jeanine and I have finally made it to our hotel in Montreal. This is a beautiful city, I just wish I had a little more time to see the city. We are both quite exhausted so I think we are both going to take naps. The boys are supposed to be calling around 7 and it's about 4:30 now. I am very excited to see them, and so is Jeanine. It's been ages since she has seen them, like a year and a half. Well it's going to be a great time for both of. It's been a long time since we've spent this kind of time with our boys!

Later that nite...

I am here at the merchandise booth at the Jailhouse. The guys called us around 6:30, they were about a half hour away. We got to the Jailhouse to find out that they were running late because they got a little bit lost on the way. Jeanine and I hung out till they came in, and then we immediately began setting up the merchandise. They have a ton of new shirts! They are all really cool. One of them is a photo of all them and it says Toilet Boys Rock N Roll Whores. They had some of the lip service jeans and mesh shirts as well. I happened to snag the very last black tank top with a target and pitchfork on it that had the logo and Rock N Roll Whore across the front. Sean just informed me that he wants me to do the lights tonite! I have no idea how to do it but he's gonna go show me...

We are on our way to Ottawa. We got a late start today, got to check out of the hotel at 2 PM which was cool. It was nice to sleep in. The show last nite was really great. It was the first time I ever had to be so far from the stage during their show, but it was really cool to learn how the lights work. They told me I did a good job, which is nice because I had no idea what I was doing. Just kinda moved them to the beats of the songs. It was great. We are now on our way to Ottawa. We got lost getting out of Montreal, and it was really aggravating but we are well on our way now. Adam is with us and he just let us listen to the new recordings of The Party Starts Now, Another Day in the Life, Hollywood, and Saturday Nite. They are all really incredible. Hollywood now has this intro with... CELLOS!!! It's really beautiful.

Last nite was such a great nite. Until the very ending. Sean's BC Rich Mockingbird Custom, his main guitar, was stolen from the club in Ottawa. I was pretty concerned about Sean because he looked very upset. He'd had that guitar since he was 19. They took the strap too, which he had since he was 16. It had a lot of sentimental value and I just really hope he gets it back. Before all that happened, things were going great. We had dinner at this cool diner, then I went with Omid, Adam, and Sean to this club called Bare Fax. It's a strip club and friends told us that Gene Simmons went there when Kiss played in Ottawa. We were having a great time. The show was a lot of fun, the club was really small but they rocked it. The setlist was pretty much the same as the nite before, and I think they will be doing the same set every nite. The songs they did were:
The Party Starts Now
Turn It Up
Blue Halo
Saturday Nite
Hollywood
Electric
Ride
The Future is Now
You Got It
Living Like a Millionaire
Encores:
Rock And Roll
Another Day in the Life
Go Go Boy
The set was so strong and the crowd seemed really into it. This awesome girl Mia that we had met the nite before in Montreal came to this show too and we hung out with her and her friend Melissa after the show. They are both super cool and fun and nice! We are almost to Toronto!

June 20th, 2001

I have to step off the Toilet Boys for a few minutes. I have found a new love. Candy Ass. I;ve heard about them, met a couple members at a TB show in New York a couple years ago, but I never heard their music. They are so incredible!!! They sold out of CD's last nite so I havent heard their recorded stuff yet. But live, damn! These girls are so gorgeous and after just one nite with them I have really gained such admiration! The three of them, (Galadriel, Hopey, Karen) were so nice to me and Jeanine. I am dying to hear their CD and I should have one soon I hope! Their set only consisted of 6 songs and Electric Eddie was on drums! It ruled!
Toronto was great for me not just because I discovered them, but so many of my friends came up for the show. When I go there I saw my friend Lindsey, and she brought Elijah. They also had their friend Weasel, Lindsey's sister Ashley, and our friend Katie who I haven't seen in a couple years. Our crazy friends Michelle and Al were there also, and so was Meats Moran. Another friend Krista was at the show. It was so nice to be there around all these people that I know.

Earlier in the day I got to see Guy get interviewed by Much Music. After that I got to watch the band sound check. It was wicked because Guy was playing the bass, Adam was playing the Drums, Omid was playing one of the Guitars, and Rocket was playing the other. Then Guy had one of the guitars and Omid had the bass... AND THEY PLAYED BLITZKREIG BOP!!! It was a really fun moment so watch! Sean bought a brand spanking new guitar that day, and it's beautiful. He actually seemed a little less upset about his other one, and said maybe it was a blessing in disguise. At soundcheck, Jeanine heard Kiss in the Wind for the first time, and she came over to me and said "this is a great song" and proceded to shed a few tears. We kinda begged them to play it that nite and so they threw it into the encore. I was back doing the lights and during one of the chorus' Guy pointed to me and I got all silly. That song is just REALLY beautiful and I dont know why, but it really affects me. After the show tonite (we are in London) we have to drive 3 hours to Niagara Falls. It's halfway to Cleveland. I am not sure yet whether I am going to make it to Cleveland, I hope so but we aren't sure.

January 22nd, 2001

Well, I did make it to Cleveland after all! Jeanine and I left right after the band finished playing. London was a good show, the drive back to NF wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. We had to stop to exchange money before we went over the border but we had no troubles at all getting across or anything. It was awesome. We got to sleep in late and didn't really hit the road for Cleveland until about 5.

I have to admit, I was really kind of sad and quiet in Cleveland. The place where we were was huge and very nice. Jeanine and I just kind of chilled out by the merchandise and relaxed. We were both very mellow. It was the last night and goodbye's are always hard. :) We got to watch the show from the front row, and it was really great. Same setlist as all the other nites and the crowd, even though there weren't a lot of people there, was really into it. After the show we had to run because Jeanine had to work the next morning and after saying goodbye we got in the car and started to drive back. I was really sad in a way but I was happy at the same time. I spent days with the most incredible guys in the world, friends, my favorite band, met and fell in love with Candy Ass, and did my share to help those guys in their fight to keep rock and roll alive and fun and explosive.

I know this sounds way too Hallmark, but that's just the kind of person I am... Eddie, Guy, Sean, Rocket, and Adam... I LOVE YOU all. In your own ways you are all such incredible people. You are all so different, and gettting to know you has been one of the biggest pleasures of my life. Getting to work with you has been more fulfilling to me than you could ever know.

With that said, can't wait to rock and roll again.
