CANADA 1999

March 21, 1999 - On the Train Home from NYC

I can't believe I am already on my way home.  These past 2 days have been
more fun than I imagined.  On Friday, we got to NYC and went to our hotel.
Jeanine and I were a little nervous because we were staying in Elizabeth, NJ
for our first night, and it was kinda fucked up there.  But after the show
on Saturday, we were going to Guy's apartment for the night. Friday night
Theo was performing at Squeezebox and we decided to just stick around the
hotel and sleep for a while.

When we woke up, we called Sean because he was sick and we just wanted to
send some get well wishes to him and during our conversation he asked us to
appear on HOTBOX, his show on the Pseudo Network.  It was perfect because we
brought all our pictures from Canada to show them.  We were supposed to be
on with Marky Ramone and I was really excited about that.  So we got there
at about 8:30 and sat around until 9 when they brought us into the studio.
Marky ended up canceling the appearance in order to see Jeff Beck, so it was
just me and Jeanine.  What ensued was like nothing I have ever experienced,
but I did get to meet KATE who is one of the sexiest women I have seen in my
entire life.  We showed our pictures and talked about being Tour Mom's among
other things.  Thank god for archives!

Then we went to Squeezebox and waited for Guy, who was DJ'ing that night.
Squeezebox is the first place I have ever seen anyone dance to Led Zeppelin,
and I loved it there.  I also met Theo for the first time, which was
amazing.  She is so beautiful!
When she was done performing, we left for our hotel in Jersey and went to
sleep.  We ended up sleeping till about 6 on Saturday, before going to
Manhattan.  We got to Guy's around 8 and dropped our stuff off.  Then we
headed down to the Bowery Ballroom.  The show was pretty cool, so great to
see them in their hometown and with their Cheerleaders! (Kate, and Sian and
Galadrial from Candy Ass) We also got to meet Adam's Mom and his wife.
Their set was cut very short by the ballroom, and they were told a couple of
days before the show that they weren't allowed to do their pyro, but they
did do some during the last song.  We did get to hear some new songs, like
Blue Halo, Hollywood, and Rock and Roll.  I also presented Guy with some
gorgeous roses during the set, to which he replied "Oh my god, I feel like
Patti Labelle!"  After the show me and Jeanine were totally wiped out, so we
just went back to Guy's.  He went to Coney Island High, because he had to
DJ.  We were asleep when he came back and didn't see him till the morning.
We hung out and talked for a while, then went to Penn Station and caught the
train home.  I am totally beat from the trip but it was fantastic.  My 2nd
time in NYC and such a great way to spend it!

April 28, 1999 - Buffalo, NY
Well, I have been planning and working on this for over a month now, and
finally, tomorrow we leave for Canada yet.  I nearly lost my job because my
boss wouldn't give me off, but I would have quit before I missed this
opportunity!  I just talked to Adam and everything is set.  We are meeting
them in Toronto tomorrow evening.  I am packed and just need to get some
REST because the next 4 days are going to be such a blur for me and Jeanine!

April 29, 1999 - Toronto, ON
We are sitting in our hotel in Toronto waiting for the guys to get here and
we get a call.  Stuck at the border, and will probably be another hour or so
before they make it up here.  Apparently, customs found a screen in Sean's
pocket.  And when doing a check on his name, found that another guy named
Sean Pierce is wanted by the FBI.  This Sean Pierce also happens to have the
same birthday as our Sean, and in the end, they let him go because the Sean
Pierce they are looking for is 5 feet, and Sean the Toilet Boys is 6 feet 6
inches.  Thank GOD things worked out!

April 30, 1999 - London, ON
Well last night was something else!  We met up with Michelle, who we met
last time in Toronto, and had a fucking time!  It was really awesome.  We
met these guys that are in this band called the Bisapians, who are from
Buffalo, so I will totally have to check them out next time they play.  The
atmosphere was fucking great.  Me and Michelle both had video cameras and we
were rolling the whole night and got some great fucking footage.
Tricky Woo was one of the opening bands and they were on fire.  The boys
even liked em!  The Toilet Boys took the stage and just exploded all over
the audience.  It was just so unbelievable to me how great they were, much
better than any other time I have ever seen them!  So collected, strong, and
they just rocked SO hard.  And the setlist was incredible!  Broken Home,
Special, Shine On, Hollywood, Another Day in the Life, Blue Halo, Ride, so
many great songs.  There was new pyro, and it was just INCREDIBLE.  I had so
much fun during the whole set and everything was perfect…

And when they finished, the Remainz played a good set of old Ramones songs.
We went back to the hotel at about 2 and went to sleep.  We slept in pretty
late today and then we all went for breakfast in this little pub near the
hotel and it was nice.  I shot a lot of stupid little conversations with the
video camera and I know it will be odd to watch that later on. Since I was
locked out of my room (me and Jeanine stay with Guy and Ed, and Guy was
still sleeping, and Ed went shopping with Jeanine) me, Michelle, Rocket, and
Sean all took a nap.

We left for London at about 3:30 and the ride was, eventful, to say the
least.  Me, Adam, Jeanine and Michelle drove together while the rest of the
Toilet Boys and their pyro guy, Omid, drove in the van.  Adam subjected us
to some operatic Toilet Boys singing, (You had to be there to believe it…
And I got it all on tape.) Then he showed us his love and devotion for King
Diamond by singing the king for like 45 minutes, with back ups by Michelle.
It was totally funny.

It seems every where we go we are bound to cause a fiasco! For god's sake,
you should have seen the scene we made in the Tiger Express Gas Station.
Sean was swearing at the lack of Dr. Pepper and shaking his butt in the
camera, Ed was hollering at us to hurry up and document his purchases.  (I
will admit that since it was my first time with a video camera I was a
little obnoxious with it.) Rocket was marveling over the existence of Dill
Pickle flavored potato chips.  And then, as if we weren't a spectacle
enough, Guy had some stuff in his hands, some V8 and water, and he thought
he would be funny and stick the V8 under his shirt.  And he dropped it, and
it broke all over the floor.  It was so funny I couldn't believe it.
So now we are in London and I just taped about a 30-minute jam session
between Rocket, Sean and Adam.  It was amazing.  Off to find something to
occupy myself with till show time!

May 1, 1999 - Ottawa
Well, things could not have gone better last night!  Somehow I ended up in
the Remainz dressing room with Sean and DeeDee and Barbara Ramone. That was
very cool but very surreal at the same time.  Just because I remember my dad
telling me how he drank beer with the Ramones when he was a bartender at the
Salty Dog, and they played there.  Anyway, Adam ends up coming in and
bringing George, and DeeDee was actually talking to George.  Gave him a
manicure and everything.  It was totally weird, but funny at the same time
and DeeDee was nice so that was a good experience.  I met Marky too, and he
was also nice.

The Toilet Boys played an awesome set.  I didn't tape the entire thing, but
I wish I had now.  During Shine guy went to get on Sean's shoulders and he
reached the ceiling and pushed the tile in and it came falling down on the
stage, but no one was injured.  One of my favorite parts of last night was
when I was standing on Rocket's side of the stage and him and I were singing
at each other.

Michelle got really drunk and dropped my camera so now I can't tape anything
else, probably a good thing because I filmed so much in the couple days
already!  So now we are on our way to Ottawa, I have never been there but it
sounds like it should be fun.  We got a little lost, and we stopped at this
gas station and Sean bought this hat for Guy…  This hillbilly farmer sitting
on a toilet and it says "I'm so happy, I could just SHIT."  Beautiful.

May 2, 1999 - Montreal, Quebec
Last night's show was fucking fantastic.  I could not believe how great the
show was.  Lucky Ron's was kinda small, but the crowd really got into it.
They seemed to really react to the fire and effects, and after the set I was
so charged that I got up there like a high school cheerleader and got
everyone to scream for an encore.  They played Deuce for the first time in
this group of shows, and it was really fucking great.  For some reason this
night was just really amazing.  I got all emotional watching them play.  The
club was really small and the opening band was called Hot Piss.  They were
so cool.  They had Heavy Metal style Baseball tee shirts and put on a great
show.  On the ride to Montreal I switched with Eddie and rode in the van and
he was in the car with Jeanine and Adam.  The ride was actually less than an
hour and a half, and our hotel is really nice.  Everyone went to the city,
but me and Jeanine and Guy went out to dinner.  I think we are leaving for
the Jailhouse around 9 or so.  I am so sad that tonight is the last night.
It seems like we waited so long, and it's all gone by so fast!

May 3rd, 1999 - Montreal, Quebec
Well it is really early in the morning, and we just got back to the hotel.
I must say I am totally exhausted and kinda sad!  The boys left for NYC
right after the show, and we still have the 2 hotel rooms, so me and Jeanine
have our own rooms tonight.  I figured I would write the rest of this
experience now while it is fresh in my mind.  Tonight's show was really
good, and I got to introduce them tonight, which was really special for me.
After the show we sat around for a little while and talked, then they packed
up the equipment and after saying good-bye, they left for New York, and we
left for our hotel.  Jeanine and I were really sad and stuff but we had an
awesome time!  Adam says we'll do it again soon, but who knows what is gonna
happen.  It was a great experience and at least I have some cool home video
footage to help remember.
